Glimmers is a new perspective on what Kevin Noble is best known for: contemplative minimalist photography of the great American West.
An aerial point of view of Yellowstone National Park’s iconic prismatic springs takes this well-known imagery and abstracts it into a unique symphony of texture and pattern.
Each piece in the Glimmers series is gilded in 23-karat leaf and is a unique, one-of-one edition.
My new series draws inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold, embracing imperfections rather than concealing them. This golden repair transforms scars into something beautiful, celebrating resilience. Like pottery, we all carry scars—some light, like a child’s scraped knee that heals with time, others too deep to fully mend. Through my art, I seek out “glimmers,” fleeting moments of peace and joy that contrast with life’s triggers. These glimmers are my way of healing and sharing hope with others who bear their own scars, inviting them to find beauty in their imperfections.
